The We the People National Invitational is held virtually each April.
Middle and high school classes may elect to attend the National Invitational after participating in a simulated congressional hearing at the school, district, or state levels during the school year.
National Invitational teams may participate from their home state, or they may choose to travel to Washington, D.C. If a team decides to travel, virtual hearing rooms will be arranged at the students’ hotel. Travel, lodging, and tour arrangements for classes are organized through WorldStrides. The Center for Civic Education manages all other aspects of the National Invitational. If you want to compete in the National Invitational, a form needs to be submitted by mid February.
